Obituary

Obituary for Anne O'Connell (Perry)

Bristol - Anne (Perry) O’Connell, 91, of Bristol, died Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Silver Creek Manor in Bristol.
She was the wife of the late Raymond J. O’Connell and daughter of the late Frank and Anna (August) Perry. Anne was born in Providence and was a lifelong resident of Bristol.

She was a pillar of the community, and was deeply involved in many groups.

For over 20 years, she was an office manager for Health Care Services in Providence, before retiring in 1989. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Bay Church in Warren, where she was a CCD Teacher, president of the former St. Vincent DePaul (now the St. Mary of the Bay Food Pantry), and was a Eucharistic Minister to the church.
Mrs. O’Connell was a driver for the ECHO Services of Bristol, a volunteer for the Blithewold House, and also a member of Sisters of Saint Dorothy. Mrs. O’Connell was also one of the main committee members for the Bristol Fourth of July parade, which she always enjoyed watching.

Anne was an avid reader, who loved travelling to Ireland, and supporting her favorite team, the New England Patriots.
And more than anything else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, which she loved dearly.

She leaves behind her loving family of 9 children, Kathleen O. Jancarik of Somerset, MA, Karen O. O’Connell of Greenville, RI, Karyl A. Ramsay of Warren, RI, Raymond J. O’Connell II, of Rehoboth, MA, Robert P. O’Connell of East Providence, RI, Richard P. O’Connell of Bristol, RI, Kristy A. Gagne of Charlestown, RI, Kerri O. Santos of Warren, RI, and Russell F. O’Connell of Bristol, RI, 25 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Jane A. Castro of Bristol, RI. She was the sister of both the late Francis N. Perry, and the late Virginia L. Howard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main Street, Warren. Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.

Dear Kathy, Karen, and siblings,

I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I remember fondly staying the night with you two girls and your mom's warmth and welcome. I still remember your grandmother chasing us with a broom for disturbing the sheep, as well! I hope we can make contact at some point. Your mom is now a star in heaven burning bright and watching over you all. God bless and keep you.
