Obituary for Crystal Lee Rainey

Bristol - Crystal Lee Rainey 36, of Bristol, died Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Hope Hospice in Providence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newport, RI at the Newport Naval Base, loving daughter of Marlene (Barnes) and Adriano “Buddy” Teixeira and the late James Rainey. She was the partner of Michael Ciccone.

She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for more than 20 years, most recently employed at St. Elizabeth Manor in Bristol. "Crystal from Bristol” was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church, attending grade school there and then continued in Bristol/Warren Regional, graduating from Mt. Hope High School in 2001.

Crystal was a truly compassionate person driven to help others. She had many close friends and relatives. Above all, she was a dedicated mother who adored her three beautiful children; they were her world. She enjoyed family time, especially cuddling with her son Zachary and arts & crafts and beach days with her daughters Gianna and Annabel. She had a huge heart, contagious smile, and gave her all to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Crystal was preceded in death by her grandmother Genevieve (Jinx) Barnes and grandfather Robert Rainey. She leaves behind her brother Andrew Stephen Teixeira of Bristol; grandfather Merriman (Lefty) Barnes, and grandmother Marilyn Rainey and also her cherished dog Cubby. She is also survived by many close friends and members of the Rainey, Barnes and Teixeira families.

Arrangements are with SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren where family will receive friends Wednesday, November 27, 2019 from 4: 00 pm – 8:00 pm. A prayer service will begin at 7:30 pm.

Flowers are welcome. Gifts in her memory may be made to the family for her children.
