Obituary

Bristol - Harold E. “Bud” Pedley Jr., 94 of Bristol passed away peacefully on January 28, 2019, at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, in Bristol.

He was the husband of the late Frances M. (Bullock) Pedley.

Bud was born in Fall River, Ma. The son of the late Harold E. Pedley Sr. and Nellie (Bullock) Pedley.
Mr. Pedley was a 1943 graduate of Colt Memorial High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving as a Sergeant with the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, in WWII.

Mr. Pedley was the Parts Manager, for the Rhode Island Refrigeration Supply Company, Inc. for over 31 years before retiring in 1986.

A Bristol resident all of his life, Bud became a member of the First Baptist Church in Bristol in 1939 and was very active up until 87 years of age. He held several offices, Lifetime Deacon, Trustee, Assistant Moderator, Sunday School Superintendent and Guest Preacher. He served as bell ringer, Candle lighter and Mister-fix-it receiving the Golden Hammer award in 1984.

He also enjoyed fishing, sailing, playing golf and bowling and he was also quite the gadget maker.
Bud is survived by his daughters Wendy Krupa of Hopedale, MA. and Lorna Francis of Bristol.

Mr. Pedley was the grandfather of 5 and the great grandfather of 14, and the great – great grandfather of 2. He was the brother of the late Evelyn Powell and the father of the late Cheryl Bennett.

A Memorial service will be held, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Rhode Island Veterans Home, 480 Metacom Avenue, Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to attend

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Deacons Fund PO Box 402 Bristol.
