Obituary for Lorraine W. "Rainey" Barba (Welshman)

Warren – Lorraine W. (Welshman) “Rainey” Barba,91 of Warren, died Friday at the Miriam Hospital, Providence.

She was the wife of the late Pasquale Barba.

Rainey was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Louis and Bertha (Beauchaine) Welshman.

She was a Dental Hygienist, who worked for Doctors Commette and Denby, for many years.

Rainey was a lifelong Warren resident.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, travelling

Rainey had supported many charitable organizations throughout her life, the Police and Fire departments, and also Paws Watch.

She held all animals in a special place in her heart, and would spend a lot of time and money making sure all the animals in her yard were well taken care of.

She had many cats, two of them were house cats the other fourteen of them were in her yard, as well as many birds in their bird houses and bird feeders.

Rainey is survived by cousins Loretta Ann Murphy of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl and Barbara Jean Starcher of Naples Fl; God daughters Robin Whalen of Warren; Kristy Leveillee of Providence and Kathleen Murphy of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl; her sister Joan Sousa of Warren; granddaughter Tammie Luther of Warren; great grandson Dillon Luther of Warren; and stepson Daniel Francis Jr. of Warren. Rainey is also survived by many cousins in Florida and Rhode Island.

She was the longtime companion of the late Daniel Francis Sr.

Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. She will be buried in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery.
