Obituary for Robert Anthony "Bobby" Zitano

Robert A. Zitano, 76. of Portsmouth, died Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Rhode Island Veterans Home, Bristol.

He was born in Fall River, Ma, a son of the late Salvatore F. Zitano and Helen (Smialek) Zitano.

Mr. Zitano was a United States Marine Corps Veteran who served during Vietnam as a Field Artillery Man.
Following his service, Robert became Head of Maintenance for a Worcester area hospital.

Robert was a resident of Portsmouth for 3 years, coming from Worcester, MA.

He enjoyed Fishing and Antiques.

Mr. Zitano is survived by his sisters, Joyce Cooper of Portsmouth, and Kathy Tukey or Chesapeake, VA. His nieces, Ronda Vye, Shelley Cooper, Missy Pattie, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Salvatore “Sony” Zitano, Christopher Zitano, Ronny Zitano, Eddy Zitano, sisters, Christine Charelte, and Cindy Guimar, and his partner, Sheila Coffey.

His funeral service will be held, Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 10:00 at Rhode Island Veterans’ Home, 480 Metacom Ave, Bristol. Burial will follow with Military Honors at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 2233 Robeson St, Fall River, MA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.

Donations may be made to the Rhode Island Veterans’ Home.
